Audio interview: Sepultura

sepultura

Easily the biggest metal band to explode out of South America, Brazil’s Sepultura has spent over thirty years at the forefront of state-of-the-art, extreme music. 2017 has already seen the anarchic quartet release their fourteenth album, Machine Messiah, and embark on a massive European trek supporting thrash titans Kreator, meaning that these veterans are riding a wave of momentum and excitement just as huge as rock’s energetic up-and-comers.

Sepultura’s guitarist and band leader, Andreas Kisser, sat down with Far Beyond Written’s Matt Mills before his group’s show in London on the 2nd March, talking about everything from the new Machine Messiah record, to the metal scene in Brazil, to the thirtieth anniversary of their beloved classic, 1987’s Schizophrenia.
