Kreator is a four-piece powerhouse that’s been going strong for 35 years, pumping out skull-rattling thrash from the beating heart of Germany consistently for three-and-a-half decades while, somehow, only managing to get better and better as time passes.

Like a fine wine, the extreme musical stylings of frontman Mille Petrozza and his multinational crew have only gotten more and more enjoyable as the years have rolled by, arguably hitting a peak with their brand new record, Gods of Violence.

Mixing thrash and classic melodic death metal in equal measure to craft a truly ass-kicking, adrenaline-pumping experience, Gods of Violence soon gave way to a giant of a tour, seeing Kreator tour all over Europe with support from the mighty Sepultura, Soilwork and Aborted.

Before his band’s show at the Forum in London, lead guitarist Sami Yli-Sirniö sat down with Far Beyond Written’s Matt Mills to chat all about the titanic new album, as well as Kreator’s upcoming slot at the 2017 Bloodstock Festival and their mascot, Violent Mind.
