Despite being one of the later bands to emerge from the Swedish melodic death metal scene, the harmonic and aggressive Soilwork is now one of the busiest and continuously impressive acts of their niche. Over the course of the past two years, lead vocalist Björn “Speed” Strid and his gang of fellow rockers have released two records: The Ride Majestic (2015) and the new compilation CD, Death Resonance (2016), which is comprised of fifteen B-sides and rarities that were left unheard by the majority of the band’s worldwide fanbase.

Add to the equation an almost endless touring cycle to promote the dual records as well as Soilwork beginning to think about their next album already, and you have a schedule totally filled to the brim.

Speaking to Far Beyond Written’s Matt Mills before his band’s show supporting Kreator and Sepultura at London’s O2 Forum, singer Strid talks about all this and more, including Soilwork’s upcoming slot at the 2017 Bloodstock Festival and his continuing work with classic rock side-project The Night Flight Orchestra.
